So Miss Alba Scout is entering her 6th day with us today and things are still perfect. She rarely cries unless she is hungry which Amy always can resolve fairly quickly. She even sleeps through nights fairly well and if she does cry she can be calmed down just by being held. She already reminds me of her mom by being such a caring soul. I uploaded more picture which can be viewed by clicking here and here. We have been taking tons of pictures around the house as well so I will be uploading some more hopefully this weekend. I cannot even begin to explain how Scout has made me feel so I won’t even attempt to do so at this point.
Haley is am amazing big sister to Scout. She is always willing to help out and loves to hold Scout. Pretty much any time she enters the room where Scout is she runs over to her and gives her a big hug and kiss which is pretty cute. Haley has also been playing Wii Fit a bunch lately which was an early Christmas present I gave to Amy. Wii Fit is a really cool game for the Nintendo Wii that sets work out goals but includes tons of game type workouts that makes meeting those goals pretty easy. The Wii is an awesome game system and games like Wii Fit might ask you things like, “Where have you been?” if you don’t workout for a couple days.
The basement work is moving right along. The plumbing will be almost complete tomorrow minus a little bit of work that needs to be completed after I frame out the shower. We ended up replacing this cast iron piping that stretched across the basement ceiling as is basically the core of the plumbing in the house. I am really thankful we did replace it as the plumbers said not only was it thin and close to breaking but it also was angled wrong so there was a lot of *stuff sitting in the pipe thus causing an unpleasant odor if any of the traps were not filled with water. Billy and I started finishing the closet underneath the stairs last night which will give us some cleaner storage in the basement. Hopefully we will finish the closet and get rocking on the actual bathroom tomorrow. We changed the design of the shower to be a large walk-in shower instead of a corner shower and one entire wall will be built form glass blocks instead of tile.
I am finally getting back into the work groove after Alba has arrived. Things are a bit backed up but after a couple nights I will be caught up and rocking again. I am going to try and get ahead a bit so I can spend a bunch of time with Alba, Haley, and Amy during Christmas break. I feel really fortunate to have enough work when others seem to be struggling to hold down jobs. Luckily in my industry there are so many unqualified people that when there is any sort of slow down in really just weeds out the people who really should be in other industry anyhow.
